Things to keep in mind:
Japanese addresses go backwards from American ones; Zip code first, then city, district, ward, agency, then the person’s name. Be sure to write JAPAN somewhere on the envelope to make it easier on your local post office.
Please hand-write all letters. Typed letters are seen as extremely impersonal or rude.
By the same token, it’s ill-advised to send prints of digital artwork that have obviously been mass-produced; send them an original drawing if you’re inclined to include art.
If sending a letter only in English, use simple sentences. Make it easy to understand.
Many agencies have rules against perishable items such as food and flowers. As a general rule, avoid sending food items as gifts.
Please be polite and respectful. Do not call them pet names (e.g. daddy, babe, honey, etc…), do not use creepy pick-up lines, do not use certain colloquialisms thinking they won’t be able to understand them.
Please be smart about what you say. Don’t say that you watched a pirated version of the play online.
I don’t think people realize how much of an impact this kind of support can have, I don’t think everyone knows what these little things can mean to us.
It may just be me, I don’t know. But every single time I see this on my dash or on someone’s blog or anywhere else, I kind of just breathe a sigh of relief. That’s one more person who cares. That’s one more person who doesn’t hate me.
Because it means so much, especially when all the media is spewing out is that I’m a terrible person and no one wants people like me near them. It means so much because I’m tired of people who won’t sit next to me in class, or who choose to join the longer line at the grocery store because they don’t want to be beside me and my family. It means so much when I have to lift my head any time someone says the words Islam or Muslim because I’m scared that they’ll say something that’ll hurt, when I have to pay attention to the news because who knows what so and so is saying now, who knows which of my people are being attacked now, who knows what’s going to happen to me now.
It means so much because I’ve been given the idea that the world is against me. And a huge part of it may be, but at least I’ve been reminded that some of it, just a small group of people, acknowledges that I’m a person too. That people like me are just that, people.
Maybe it’s just me, I don’t know. But now you do, so thank you for believing that I’m human when so many people don’t.
The day has finally come where this blog has reached yet another important milestone, one that calls for bigger celebration than the rest! Besides doing something special for the writing portion, I thought it’d be a great idea to host a giveaway! This blog isn’t even a year old yet, and I would have never thought I would accumulate such a large following. The government of my country is taking people away. They are suffering of torture. Physical and psychological.
They are spreading terror.
Tonight, the 8th of november, we took streets in Mexico City and after we walked peacefully, a strange and anarchist group with masked faces put the main entrance of “Palacio Nacional” on fire.
They didn’t came with us.
We were walking in peace. Yelling, yes. A lot. But in peace.
We are fighting against violence, so it is really, really stupid to claim for peace, with actions like these.
This is not new in Mexico. The government always use these payed groups of people to criminalise any social movement.
But we are possibly heading to a new era in our country.
We are tired of corruption. We are tired of cold assassination. We are tired of the criminals who can walk in peace, and we are tired that both police and military forces protect them.
We are so alone right now.
We are so unprotected right now.
We are not scared. We are terrorised.
We need you to focus your attention for the next few days, so they don’t dissappear and kill more of our young people.
Government are killing people just because they can, and no one can stop them.
We have no weapons, and we don’t want some.
We want to make a change after 70 years of corrupcy. They have took everything.
They took our faith, our hope, our jobs, our dreams.
They are destroying us.
My country is one of the most beautiful and interesting countries in the world, and now foreign people are even recommended not to visit this beautiful land because of insecurity.
We need you to reblog everything about Mexico these days.

Don’t leave us to get burned, like our missing 43 students.
